#804SmokeFreeRide

A community initiative aimed at promoting healthier and safer environments by encouraging pledges to keep vehicles smoke and vape free.

10 x worse than pollution

Smoking inside a vehicle creates dangerously high levels of secondhand smoke–up to 10 times greater than the worst levels of outdoor air pollution–posing serious health risks, especially to children.

the myth of safe exposure

Contrary to popular belief, simply rolling down a window does not eliminate the harmful effects of smoking. There is no safe level of secondhand smoke exposure. In fact, it can increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and contribute to respiratory infections, asthma, and impaired lung development in children.

your pledge matters

Although Virginia law prohibits smoking in vehicles with minors under the age of 15, more awareness is needed. By pledging to keep your car a smoke and vape free zone, you’re taking a stand for cleaner air and healthier futures.
