Help a Friend
Are you concerned that your friend might have a substance abuse problem? What can you do?
Talk to your friend

“As your friend, I’m concerned about your drinking and (or) drug use. Let’s get together and talk to …” (Below are some ideas you might suggest.)
- You (or your friend’s) parents
- A school counselor or school nurse
- A trusted adult (teacher, coach, relative, someone from your religious community)
- A counselor with Chesterfield County Adolescent Substance Abuse Services (768-7203)
- Someone from Alcoholics Anonymous (355-1212) or Al-Anon (353-4885)
